Round 1
The frog hops forward through the muck, closing the distance between itself and Tutkia to about 10 feet.
As Tutkia whistles, Gunnar spins and fires an arrow at it [roll of 48 on dice, +37 OB, attack total 85, -70 DB (includes +20 bonus to DB for partial cover: foliage), -10 small weapon, total 5, yields 4 Hits], which grazes the frog's right shoulder.
Gamon, from his position at the base of the stairs, some 35 feet away, whips a sling bullet back at it [roll of 85, +6 OB (-10 RI 1), attack total 91, -70 DB, -10 small, total 11]. The bullet bounces off the side of the frog's bulbous head with a dull thunk [7 hits].
Then, Gallen casts his spell [roll of 66 on dice, -20 scaling (+4 pp for +2d10 damage), +41 skilled, total 87, yields 100 on RR table, (hidden roll: RR/Magic), failure], and an bolt of arcane energy flies out of his hand, threading through the growth and nailing the giant amphibian square in its slimy torso [damage: 25 hits].
Tutkia holds his ground, keeping the elf behind him and the frog in front.
OOC: As you can see, the frog's now 10 feet away from Tutkia and over 30 feet away from Gamon. Ranged attacks from inside the courtyard suffer from an additional -20 penalty (or the frog gains +20 DB, if you like) because of the foliage/scrub (soft cover). If you have any questions/comments, let me know. I'm learning this, too, so if I goof something up, please tell me.
