[HARP] Back to the Dungeon: The Moathouse

Gamon, shocked and surprised that he actually hit with his sling, decides to move down out of the courtyard to be nearer to the action. He'll draw his sword and wait for the frog to come out of the swamp.

Round 2
The giant frog rapidly hops towards Tutkia, its thick tongue punching out at the dwarf's head as it advances. In the split second before the attack lands, the dwarf swings his axe at the frog [roll of 97 on dice, roll of 95 on second, total 192, +57 skilled, total 249, -50 DB, total 199, +10 large, yields 209 on Slashing table]. It connects violently, and the dwarf is showered in a mess of blood and amphibian viscera [Instant Death, 42 hits]. It's tongue flails at you lifelessly, borne forward only by the dead beast's forward momentum.

Wiping gore from his face, Tutkia turns slowly to the others. "Well," he says slowly. "That was interesting." He kneels heavily next to the water and tries to rinse the worst of the mess from his hands and face. "I just hope the rats don't get that big around here."

[OOC: Boo-ya! Excellent first dice roll of a new campaign. Things are definitely looking up! :) ]

OOC: SWEET! I LOVE how damage is based on the attack roll, not on a secondary roll. That was an awesome roll.

IC: Gamon just stands there in awe of the dwarf's attack. He slowly puts his sling away and goes back to where he was, stopping to listen to see if he can hear anything more once things quiet down a bit.

*Gunnar looks at Tutkia with surprise and motions he and Gallen to the courtyard.*

"There's no sense in trying to be quiet now. Anything nearby probably heard our little scuffle."

*Gunnar then looks for an entrance into the tower.*

After rinsing off his helmet, Tutkia agrees. He stumps up to the others and makes his way to the courtyard.

The broken tower looms over you, dark and lifeless. A door into the lower sections of the tower (possibly rather sizable) stands in front of you. Unlike the tower proper, it is in good repair, the solid oak planks held together with bands of iron and fresh-looking nails.

Gamon: [Hidden roll] You hear nothing in the area, aside from the noises made by your comrades, the wind in the rushes, and the occasional chirping of birds and crickets.

Tutkia says, "Well, let's see if anyone's at home." He clanks up to the door and looks it over appraisingly.

[OOC: Trying to see if there's an actual lock or any traps on the door. I don't know if that would be Perception or Locks and Traps:

Perception +25
Locks & Traps +31/+21

Gamon hops off the stone staircase, and approaches the door. He watches Tutkia examine the door for a bit, and then says, "Maybe you ought to let a professional deal with that, before you hurt yourself."

OOC: Assuming Tutkia backs away and lets Gamon look at it, I'll see if it's trapped and/or locked, and will attempt to remove said trap, or pick open said lock.
