So I just got this book from a guy on the corner. He was selling them out of his van. now I never read the other 5 or so but who is the Hermine and why did this Ron kid kill her. I understand Harry Potter is the main guy but he is hardly in the book.

Nah, this was actually a inside joke for a friend who lurks here. He is asking for the day after the book is released off so he can read it. I have been joking with him sending him "spoiler" info at work. I also make fun of the title to tick him off.

Heh. When I saw the title I figured this was a farce, but it reminded me of a story on NPR a few years ago about Chinese knock-off Harry Potter books.

There's no law saying you can't sell them early. Merely a contract with the publisher. Mind you, the penalty a civil court would have you pay for that particular breach of contract would be far worse than what you'd get if it were criminal. It is big money we're talking about, but only money.
