the Original in its Original form is the only noteworthy module to play.

the promised T2 Temple of Elemental Evil...i waited 5 years for that one. when it was released as T1-4 i was sadly disappointed. it was rife with errata. but it was still better than any attempt to return to...
return to returns to the mistakes of the T1-4 not the good stuff of T1.
Olgar Shiverstone said:The original was a great adventure -- even if the lower levels of the temple are a fairly typical early D&D dungeon crawl. The Return is a good adventure; the major dungeon portion is huge, though, so that part of the adventure can drag a bit if your group isn't into dungeon crawling. The Return does fit very much in the style of the original, which was the intent.
Now, if you really want to play the original ToEE, the PC game ships today, and the demo (the moathouse dungeon) is due for release on Friday. If you like it, download the PDF of the original module, grab the conversion document, and run it for your PnP group (or just run the Return).
