Has anyone seen the film adaptation of The Lathe of Heaven?

First Post
I was cruising Blockbuster and stumbled across it. I didn't realize they had turned it into a screenplay.

The book is a great read & I was wondering if the film was worth seeing...

Haven't seen it, but don't you mean "Lathe of Heaven" instead of "Late?" Isn't that the Ursula LeGuin one, that has something to do with a steambath or something?

Edit: typo

Yep, as usual typos rule the world. lol

The short answer is that The Lathe of Heaven is about a man whose dreams shape reality.

There are actually two movies based on the book, Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin. PBS' original movie with Bruce Davison as George Orr was done in 1980. In 2002, Lukas Haas playing the main character and James Caan playing Dr. Haber in A&E's version.

The PBS film is closer to the book than the second version. While it has been released on video and dvd to celebrate its 20th anniversary, the original negatives had been lost and it was digitally remastered from aged video masters. It is very popular with the fans.

A&E's version is okay but if you can try to find the PBS' version.

I never read the book, but the movie I saw was well worth a rental. I believe it was the A&E version, but I only saw the one version of it.
