Hasn't D&D become even more fun lately?

So, how has your enjoyment of D&D changed over time?

Well, I enjoy it as much as ever. Though I haven't had any real experience with the previous editions save for the CRPGs (Baldur's Gate in particular), I must say that I like both 3.0 and 3.5 the most. I have a good gaming group which gathers about 3 times each month and they're just as much into it as I am, so it's just lovely.

EDIT: Wohooo! Finally made it back to the 600 posts! :)

I voted that I enjoy the game more than ever before. The reason: I now have a group that is just as committed to gaming as I am. It used to be only a couple of other people...

I still enjoy D&D, put not as much as I used to. That likely has more to do with the fact that I don't have as much time to play as I used to than anything else.

I voted "I don't like it as much and I am getting tired of it."

Without starting an edition war or anything, let me just say that 3.5 is the most complex game I have ever played in my life. The game has expanded to the point of including so many very expensive (and heavy) hardcover books.

Lots of preparation is required when you DM. It's a chore. I'm really starting to dislike gaming, and I can see that I'll probably be giving it up within a year.

That's why this concept that the game has somehow "peaked" is totally foreign to me. The game isn't the rules, the game is what you make from the rules.

I had a big reply thought out, but that says what I wanted to in two sentences. That completely sums up my thoughts.

Consider trying True20, D&D3.5's vastly more streamlined new cousin.

(I love them both, just for different reasons. And my games continue to get better!)

I enjoy it even more now. I appreciate it when players role play and to see character advancement which lasts anywhere from six months to two years later is a sweet thing. It's always been fun, but I'm having an even bigger blast now.

But this has nothing to do with the rules (I find 3.X pretty much perfect for my gaming fun wants/needs). It is the changes in the people I game with - but if I start on that I will derail into a rant that will spoil my currently good mood - it suffices to say that they are a bunch of goobers as of late. :p

I used to enjoy Dungeons and Dragons, though never as much as some other roleplaying games, and I neither play it now nor have plans to play it again in the future.

With respect to roleplaying games other than D&D, gaming is at least as good now as it used to be, and maybe a bit better. :)
