Haste spell variant - how does this stack up?

Also, Polymorph Self is a self-only spell.

But Polymorhp Other isn't, and is the same level. IMHO, Poly Other is MUCH better than Poly Self, because
1) casters won't be fighting anyway,
2) it has a duration of Permanent (D), not hour/level, and
3) it can also be used offensively. "Hah! Now he's a flounder!" It's effectively a save-or-die combined with a super buff.

Of course, Poly Any Object is even better (:D ), but that's out of the level range that we're discussing.

Thanks for the input and feedback.

I think I'll introduce it into my campaign on an ancient scroll, and see what the players make of it. To reduce confusion I'll name it differently, and specify that the spell cannot coexist with haste since they are both about speeding up perceptions.

Cheers

I like it.

BTW on Sunday been, I used it, good feedback from the players.

Slow does the reverse for consistancy.

Pcs slowed a Bebilth and promptly fireballed it because of the -4 reflexes, pity about the fire resistance. ;)

It makes haste good, a bonus that stacks with everything bar expeditious retreat, but not the "always" first cast spell in all combats. I never liked the original haste for the way it mucked with actions.
