On google I show up as results 61 and 62 of 908. I actually thought it would turn up more(as in a couple of digits more). Meh.

Die_kluge is female? I thought Curtis is the name of a male.

It has all to do with improper knowledge of German.

In English, there's only one article, and it's gender-neutral: the.
In French, there are two articles, one being male and the other female: le and la, respectively.
In German, there are three articles, male, female and neuter respectively: der, die, das.

Of course, it's hard to come from a language where you use "the" for everything to another where you have to discriminate between the words' genders before choosing the appropriate article. So rather than "Der Kluge", Curtis took "Die Kluge" and thus his Internet persona is female for everybody who know a bit of German.

BTW, the same "error" was featured in one episode of the Simpsons. Somebody tries to claim that his "Die, Homer, die!" tract/T-shirt/letter/other (don't remember) weren't a death threat, but just a harmless German sentence: "The Homer, the." :)

And Curtis was kind enough to share this little mishap at the last NC Game Day. I've been giving him some good natured teasing about it since then but I told him that I would cease (because telling the same joke all the time gets old, right diaglo? ;)) after the NEXT NC Game Day. So I've only got a week left.

I must make the most of my time...
