Have you, in fact, READ the PHB?

Have you read the Player's Handbook?

Just curious with this one.

Personally, I have to admit, I have not read all of the PHB. I've read over the sections that were important to me at the time several times, and that has constituted a big chunk of it. But I've not read all the spells, and all the intricate combat rules. Like, for instance, I've not read the Druid information, since I don't care for Druids. I'll get to it all someday, I promise. :)

I initially got my copy when I playtested FR, so I read the whole thing over because there wasn't anyone I could really go to with questions. One exception. The spells section. It's pretty dry to sit there and try and read 100 pages of spells.

I've read it cover to cover, and with all the re-reading of various sections, I've read it more than once. I actually need to give it another read, soon. I've also read the DMG and the MM cover to cover.

No, I must admit I don't think I have read all of it. I have read all of the major aspects at least once, but you don't see me giving advice on the Rules Forum either.

I haven't read all the spells. I've read some portions of the Combat chapter many times. It's really a pretty dry read, though. The DMG at times is even worse.

The MM on the other hand, I read cover to cover relatively easily when it first came out.

Read the PHB cover to cover, except for some of the spells.

Read the DMG cover to cover, except for some magic items and the section on Wilderness.

Monster Manual, I've skimmed.

But did I remember any of it? :)

1st edition I knew pages and paragraphs, could find anything in seconds.

Now, I think I read that...

I know some of it may be age but I also think it is the rules, just don't have to know the details.

Me...

Skimmed some of the spells... otherwise read the whole thing C-to-C.

Read DMG C-to-C except skimmed some magic items.

Read MM C-to-C.

put me in the category of having read the entire book multiple times except for the spells.

i'm sure there's still a bunch of high-level spells that i've never read yet.

that month between its first publication and the publication of the DMG gave me plenty of time to read through most of it...
