Combat, Surprise Round Cont.

Raven moves toward the exit with stoic determination, readying her shield along the way.

Tali easily climbs out of the sewers and into the room, moving to D8 to cover his companions as they exit the sewers.

Anvuss clambers out of the hole and moves to C9.

Shoot begins pushing Fang up the ladder.

Seat, unsure of what he should do, shifts his torch and considers his options.

OOC: Tali has 5' more movement left, if he wanted to take it (you have 20' of movement, with a starting position of C10). I guessed at where to put him, so feel free to correct me.

El Jefe, Fang will need help if he is to get up into the room anytime quickly. Given the proper time (i.e. more than a few minutes) and coaxing, he might be able to climb it on his own.

Initiative (Surprise Round):
Raven = 21
Shoot & Fang = 14
Anvuss = 14
Tali = 9
Seat = 2

Combat, Round 1

OOC: Someone, just let me know if Seat wants to interrupt at any point. With a speed of 30ft., you can get to the top of the ladder in a single move action.

The skeletons and the Black Veiled woman spring into action with uncanny speed.

Skeleton #1 throws the crate it was carrying at Anvuss, which misses and crashes against the south wall spilling what looks like ink vials, some of which shatter and spill black ink on the floor. It spreads it's claws in a threatening manner and steps closer to both Tali and Anvuss (C7).

The black veiled woman moves in front of the half-orc and under the portcullis, and swings her hands at Raven, sharp bony claws tearing their way through the black opera gloves as they scratch along Raven's new shield and fail to find purchase.

OOC: Raven is up next.

Initiative (Round 1):
Skeleton #1 = 24
Black Veiled Woman = 23
* Action Paused *
Raven = 21
Skeleton #4 = 20
Skeleton #2 = 19
Anvuss = 14
Tali = 9

Skeleton #5 = 8

Half-orc cultist = 6
Skeleton #3 = 6

Shoot starts summoning a wolf at the edge of the trapdoor (D11), while Fang whimpers at the ladder with a nervous look.

OoC: Ah, I had my post nearly finished, went to look something up, and you beat me to it. Here's what I had started:

(IC: ) Shoot helped Fang scramble up the ladder, following the animal as he went. Once up, he cleared the way for others to follow, pointed to the closest skeleton, and told Fang to "Sic 'em!" He started casting a spell, hoping to prove once again how good he was with magic.[sblock=OoC: ]Don't know how much movement you'll give us with the wolf climbing up the ladder, but getting Fang to E11 and Shoot to D11 would be the goal. And if there's time for a standard action after all that, Shoot will convert Goodberry to Summon Nature's Ally I and cast that, summoning a wolf.[/sblock]

OoC: Once I saw that there is plenty of room for the party to exit the trap door and move around, I'd abandoned the idea of Shoot casting Summon to "help" Raven clear some room. But from what you just posted, I gather it would take the whole turn for Shoot to help Fang up the ladder. If that's something that can be done with two move actions, Shoot will do that. If not, he'll delay until the rest of the party if up, then start helping Fang. And if the whole party can't even get to the ladder this turn, then he'll Summon as was planned before this turn, then help Fang up next turn.

OOC: El Jefe, if you wanted to skip the casting of the summoned wolf and spend your suprise round and this round helping Fang up the ladder, I'd have no problem with you and Fang being at E11 and D11. I'll go ahead an make that change in the post.

OoC: Uh, I'm just trying to stay up with things. Can Shoot/Fang working together make it up the ladder in one round or not? If so, they'd have climbed the ladder in the surprise round, and Shoot would have changed his mind about summoning a wolf.

If they couldn't, then everything is fine. SummonedWolf (TM) will attack skeleton 2, and for round 1, Shoot will delay until Seat is starting up the ladder, then help Fang up. And if Seat spends another whole round in the tunnel, then Shoot will Summon a second SummonedWolf (TM).

OoC: The fundamental concept is that Shoot doesn't want to hold anyone else up. If he has to spend both the surprise round and this round helping Fang up, wouldn't that keep both Anvuss and Tali from climbing up during the surprise round?

If both Shoot and Fang can make it up without delaying anyone, he's willing to forego casting to do it.

If both Shoot and Fang cannot make it up without delaying someone, then he'll go last and cast on any rounds where he would otherwise have no action.

OOC: Tali and Anvuss are in front of you in the marching order, and I'm fine with just assuming you wait and climb up after them. Seat is delaying, so I don't see an issue with you going up ahead of him. So, short answer, you can get where you want to without holding anyone up. ;)
