Head of the class (stonegod judging)[Concluded]

Combat, Round 3 Cont.

Raven has no trouble regaining her feet, as thanks to Reeger she has remained standing. She sheathes her sword, and draws out her crossbow, preparing to load it.

Tali steps back and regains his focus.

As Shoot speaks the last few words of his spell, a wolf appears behind the red robed cultist and attacks the man, savagely biting him and dragging him to the floor.

Fang continues to lash out at cultist #1. He gets a solid bite on the man's leg, and a sickening crunch can be heard as Fang tries to drag the man to the ground, but fails.

The footsteps of the armored man grow faint as he decends the stairs.

Cultist #1, in a desperate effort, screams in pain and swings at Fang, opening a sizeable gash on his left flank and causing Fang to yelp in pain. The cultist then collapses to the floor, blood pooling beneath him.

Cultist #3 swings wildly at Fang but misses, his fear of the wolf apparent.

Professor Reeger grips his cane, and looks as though he'll do his best to brain any cultist that comes near him.

OOC: Anvuss is up, does he want to change his action, or still ready to strike?

ooc: Hope you feel better soon! Yes, since Anvuss can't reach an enemy he will ready an action against the possibility that changes.

Combat, Round 3 Cont.

Anvuss holds himself ready to brain any cultist entering the room.

Seeing that Fang is in a position to pounce on him, the red robed cultist stands up and slashes down at the summoned wolf, missing. The summoned wolf takes the opportunity to snap at the cultist when he drops his guard standing up, and delivers a vicious bite.

Cultist #4 swings inaccurately at Fang, unwilling to give up the cover the doorframe provides.

OOC: Seat is up next in Round 4.

ooc: What Tali would really like is for Fang to take a 5' step back, so that it's the cultists that have one person being attacked by three, instead of the other way around. But he can't make Shoot's animal companion move, so since 1 (unconcious/dying) and C (tripped) are down, I'm trying to figure out the risks involved in trying to tumble out to K10 or so.

Seat loads his crossbow, but there are too many people in the way to even start taking aim, so he lowers it a bit, looking for any wounded comrade that doesn´t walk on 4 legs.

OOC: Yeah, that's what happens with simul-posting :) But really, I was wondering (as in ask-the-DM wondering) how many tumble checks Tali would have to make to get to K10, so I could figure out if he could do it without taking too much risk.

OOC: Ah, well let me look then :).

If Tali were to move through Fang's square and then tumble through I9 and J10, and wind up in K10, he'd have to make three Tumble checks at 15 and 17 (for moving past 3 and 4, you chose vs. which one first), and then 19 (against C). That would move him 25 ft., 15 of which will have been tumbled movement.

Alternately, he could move to Fang's square and tumble through J9 (cultist #4) at a DC of 25 (might be 27, does the +2 get added if you are moving past another foe, or just if you are moving through another foe?).

I think I've got that right. stonegod, care to comment?

OOC: Ugh. Tumbling hurts head.

Icy's got the right of it for the most part, except you Tumble at half your movement rate; thus, you'll need to use at least a double move to get to K10 (and thus still have a bit of normal movement left if you so desired and have more checks to make).

For Option 1, it is as Icy said. Move action 1: 5' to fang's position, tumble to J10 for effective 20' of movement, requiring checks against 3 and 4. Move action 2: One more tumble check to K10, requiring a check from 4 (again, as it is a new movement) and C.

For Option 2: Move action 1: 5' to fang's position, tumble through J9. Requires a DC 15 check against 3 (as you are still moving from 3's threatened area) and a DC 25 against 4 (and if it fails against 4, you cannot move through 4 and 4 get's an AoO).

Is that less murky?
