D&D 4E Heads up! All 4e threads being moved into new 4e forum

There are a number of 4E threads that aren't actually marked as such. If you need a hand let us know, we'll copy/paste links for ya. :)

Really missed you this weekend. :)

Eric, I've temporarily made you a super-moderator. Would you mind helping me move threads into the 4e forum, and relabel them?

If not, no worries. But if you can, thank you! I'll flip the switch back when we're done.

When will this be reversed so that it is 3rd Edition being segregated away?
This was my immediate thought. Shouldn't you be moving forward and segregating the 3e threads much like d20/OGL stuff is already segregated?

We've made a new 4e forum specifically for your viewing pleasure. You'll see it as a sub-forum. All existing 4e threads will be moved there, and all new 4e threads should be started there.

Thanks!
Good stuff! :)

No. New forums get created when an influx of threads about a particular topic pour in. Don't take this as some sort of secret value judgment about the importance of 4e; if you do, you're inferring that yourself, because it's not implied.

Besides, there are 52 thousand threads in this forum, and I can't mass-move them by category. YOU want to do it by hand? :D

The General Thread is so much more "cleaner". I can actually find something of substance and value.

Of course, once 4e is released it would make most sense for 4e threads to move back.

Thanks PirateCat.

Incidentally, "segregated away" is a far more negative connotation than I'd make -- this is to help keep all 4e threads in one place, and to make sure that other threads don't get drowned out in these first heady days. My guess is that we'll re-merge the new forum and the General forum at some point before launch.

We won't move 3e threads into their own forum; once the forums are merged at some point, they'll just share.

Then its a good thing I edited out what I was originally going to post since segregated is a nicer way of putting it then I originally used. Can it at least be moved out of the basement and be a forum on its own?

I'll bet they can have the best of both worlds by making it a full-fledged forum AND having a link to it right where it is at the top of General, like they do with the Off-Topic forum. Just be patient and give them a bit to figure out the best way to do this. :)

Ok, I haven't moved 'em all, but I've moved a bunch. Should be a good start. It was fun being in the driver's seat again if only for a couple of hours.

If a) I moved something I shouldn't have, or b) there's a better category, or c) you have suggestions for other catgories, let your friendly neighborhood mods know.
