D&D 4E Heads up! All 4e threads being moved into new 4e forum

Good stuff. I've been really enjoying the last few days, but kept feeling like I was getting jostled around in a very busy subway station trying to talk to two different people at the same time. Now I'll know where to dive in to find all the juicy 4e talk. :)

When will this be reversed so that it is 3rd Edition being segregated away?
I would guess that it won't be until sometime after we actually have rules and such to discuss for 4e. I am possibly wrong, though.

Just to say thanks to the mods (and honourary Mod For A Day, Again, Eric :-) ) for doing this. I was hyper tense on Thursday fo rthe announcement of 4E and all, but I was getting a bit fed up of coming to the forum and finding nothing really new being discussed - or what was new was buried in a pretty big pile of mostly fact-less "4E AW YEAH!" and "4E OH NOES!" stuff I guess everyone was finding out for the first time over a longish period of time, but I was getting a little fed up of it, and now I can deal with it as and when I feel like it. ;-) Thanks again!

Can it at least be moved out of the basement and be a forum on its own?
It's not in "the basement." I think you want the forum position to be some sort of symbolic pronouncement about the importance of 4e. What I want is for the 4e threads to be in a highly visible and high traffic location that's simple for people to view. Sorry if you feel that my needs don't coincide with yours.

Thanks to the seacriminalcat and everyone who has kept this place working during such a crazy period.

But will you have to create a 3rd ed forum in 6-9 months?

Fortunately they have about 9 months to figure that out. :) If I were doing it, at that time I would rename the existing Rules forum, calling it 3E Rules, and then create a parallel forum for 4E rules. I'm not sure what I would do beyond that. All editions of D&D lived in harmony in General before, maybe they will again once the pre-release phase of 4E's history is over.

I'll chime in as well, with a "Thanks for the move".

And add in a "Kudos" to all the mods. (Dinkeldog and Umbran especially, who were quite active over the wekeend.)

I certainly don't envy you your powers right now. ;)
