Heart of Artifice Temporary 2--Aethelus Alone

"Yes, let us be off then."

Aethelus will try to find Jade before she heads out to meet the Baron, but if she has already left he'll head out on his own.

*Aethelus finds a guard at Jade's door, but when he checks, she ushers him in. Servants are preparing her hair and clothing for this official visit--rather than the casual wear that she sported when talking with Aethelus (which was still a beautiful work of art unto itself, if simple and easy to wear), this gown a complex and elegant affair that nearly requires the aid of another to don.*

"Ah, Aethelus. Good morning. I trust you slept well?" Jade inquires.

"Yes, thank you, the arrangements were much to my liking. I don't want to keep you too long before you are to meet the Baron, but I just wanted to make sure that I will not be in the way if I move around the city on my own. I hope that I might be able to find some clues to the identity and location of this criminal on my own, in addition to seeing the city of course."

"Ah, I see. I'm glad you were comfortable. You should be fine to see the sights, Aethelus, but please...take care of yourself. Make sure not to make yourself a target for this terrorist--they sometimes strike most violently at outsiders, and as a Rogue Spark, another Spark would be a primary target if you made yourself known. Would you like me to send you some guards? I worry that if I do so, it will only mark you as a target, and against a Spark, a few guards might not be much help."

"No, I agree that guards would be too obvious. I'll strike out on my own, see the city and find out if I can gather any intelligence on my own end. If nothing else I am happy to see such a fantastic sight."

ooc: re: convo in ashins commission, okay lets try to spike things today then.

"Very well then. And if you encounter something you cannot handle, flee here and you can remain under my protection. You might want to put your creative Spark to use designing some sort of device to immobilise or slow down your pursuers, or you could just run. I will probably see you again this evening, but it depends on how my conversation with the Baron goes. Until then, Aethelus."

(OOC: I do have a bit of time now, so that could work)

"Okey dokey, chief. You can tell me if you see anything cool-looking. I can't really see in here, and I don't want to risk peeking out if that will cause you trouble."

*Aethelus heads to the side of the ship, where a long carpeted walkway has extended to connect to the edge to the edge of the island housing the floating city, directly connecting to the edge of a road leading towards the central palace.*
