Hee hee hee!

Morrus

Well, that was fun

Remember our little campaign to get votes at Mortality's Topsites page? It seems that one of the fans of the second-place site, Solaris, has taken it a little personally!

If you'd like a giggle, head over there (preferably by way of voting for EN World using the button below) and read the comments posted for both EN World and for Solaris. :)

And please, don't take it as seriously as this guy seems to be - it's no more than a bit of fun.

My, that WAS a bit ... ahem ... rude wasn't it. ;)

I think somebodies had a little to much caffine this morning.

(see, nothing even Eric's Grandma would take offense to! :D )

So... if I understand it right, this guy thinks ENWorld shouldn't be listed on a service that's determining which gaming sites are popular...

...because it's too popular?

Right, makes perfect sense... if you're a baboon.

edit: You know, I take it back, the guy's not a baboon. That's mean. He is overreacting and didn't bother to check into the context of what he's talking about, but on reflection my calling him a baboon was doing the exact same thing. So the joke's on me (and I guess I too am a baboon).

:)

I don't get it...does he think EN World is strictly a game unto itself? Is he just referring to the play by post games? He seems to be comparing apples and oranges really. It doesn't make very much sense. His site looks interesting but I don't see how EN World is really any competition for him. Lol, life is too short to take stuff like this that seriously. :D

I disagree - ENWorld is not just popular, its one of the most popular D&D sites on the internet. It doesn't need to compete against smaller sites in popularity polls.

I think its perfectly fine to limit polls like this to less trafficked sites because its a good way to increase site traffic. However, the poster in question showed both less than complete understanding of exactly what ENWorld was (he seemed to think it was a single game site) and a sever lack of tact.

He evidently made his comments and submitted his rating without actually looking at EN World. To mistake it for a game is... well, I'm not sure how someone could mistake a news site for a game.

Oh yeah, I agree completely! I very rarely join in on these things. However, sometimes one feels "goaded" into participating. Guess I should rise above it - I'm evidently succumbing to the dark side. :)

However, it does occur to me that a popular site's presence on that page actually benefits the other sites - a whole bunch of people here have no doubt checked out some of the other sites on that list after voting for EN World simply because they were curious once they arrived there.

I'd like to turn a blind eye to my buddies, but both seem to work pretty well... :)

Ask me again in about 50 years, and I'll give you the blindest one I have at the time. ;)
