You know, the way we did it back in the old days before all these computer freaks ruined our ability to destroy something for real and call it art. ;)

Destroyed real good? Bronson Good? Eastwood Good? Dare I ask, Stalone Good? Is that what you mean...? :p

Yep, that's what I mean. :) The big chase scene involving the crane, buildings, windows, cars with and without drivers reminded me of the Blues Brothers with as much stuff that was being destroyed. Of course being older now when I see a scene like that in a movie a part of my mind thinks, "OH God, if that really happened, my insurance premiums would skyrocket to pay off all that damage."

Saw League earlier today. My review is in a seperate thread in this forum. :)

Short, short version: it's good, if you want an action flick with fun literary references, and don't need a lot of character development.

T3 is like T2 Lite. Lots of action, and that's exciting and all, but it lacks the depth of theme, tone and old-fashioned moralistic sci-fi that pervaded the earlier films. So I guess it depends on why you like the Terminator series. If you like it because it's a bit deeper than your Total Recalls or Aliens of the world, then you might actually find it disappointing. If, on the other hand, you just like to see some really stonkin' good action, it delivers more than any of the past ones ever did, in part due to modern special effects.

I have seen both T3 and LXG. Here is my perspective.

Termanator 3: Definitely the kind of movie that leaves you excited. Beyond the action of the movie, there is little else. If you like the movies that have a fast paced, non-stop adventure - this movie is for you. The plot is light, it raises few political or moral questions - just shoot shoot run, shoot shoot drive, shoot, shoot.

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: I really enjoyed this movie. As a kid just out of high school, I have read many of the books from which the characters are borrowed. Having not read the comic books and having only read a few reviews on the comics; I found the movie enticing and easy to understand. It is assumed you have a general idea who the main characters are, however it is not imperative that you have read the novels. If you are a special effects kinda person, this will definitely stoke the furnace; lot of very good special effects and very cool characters. Got me very eager to go and play some D&D :D

There are definitely a few more plot turns in LXG than there are in T3; however, on the most basic level they are the same: "Save humanity by using tons of special effects. If I had to choose, I'd go with LXG.

See Pirates.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Great fun, great acting, great script, great action, great comedy, and incredibly great Depp.

VERY, VERY SLIGHT LXG SPOILER FOLLOWS. NOT EVEN REALLY A SPOILER. JUST A DESCRIPTION. BUT STILL, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

LXG: Car chase in roadless VENICE. 10-story tall submarine in the 10 feet deep canals of VENICE. I know how to suspend disbelief, but I don't know how to obliterate it.

T3: I've seen it. No, wait, that was T2. I guess I haven't seen it, though I suspect that I have.

See Pirates. You won't regret it.

I haven't seen T3 yet, but I did see Pirates and League. Both were outstanding movies, an 8.5 and 8.0 out of 10, respectively. Pirates is definitely a must-see, so your other choice is between League and T3.

Pirates, Aaaaarrrrr!

I've seen T3 and Pirates, and will see LXG today or tomorrow.

Between T3 and Pirates, both of which were great, I would choose Pirates. I left that movie feeling fantastic!
