HELP! Good miniature sites??

ohh.. and I second www.discounthobby.com (or www.dragglestown.com) they are a great company. The guy who runs it, Johnny Lauck, is a real professional who makes sure you get your order on time and with curteous service.

Make sure you DO NOT go with newwave. They are notoriously known for bad customer service and never gettin orders right.

I third the recommendation for Discount Hobby (a.k.a. Dragglestown). I've always had fantastic service from them.

And I also third the avoidance of New Wave. They are legendary--for all the bad reasons.

Re: Unique Minis

Hey be sure to checkout www.100Kingdoms.com/store.

They have some unique minis you won't find anywhere else, they're of exceptional quality, cheap prices, and they're a good ol' US of A company!

What more can you ask for!

Here's the link, again.

http://www.100kingdoms.com/store/

That period at the end of the link is screwing it up.

BTW: I just looked through it, and some of the minis are very nice. Now I got a question. Are they proportional to regular D&D/Chainmail minis? Reaper minis? I'd rather not get any til I know if they're proportional with the rest of my miniatures.

www.wargamesfoundry.com is also fantastic. I just bought a huge amount of the Street Violence line to use in my Spycraft game I am starting up. Their service has always been timely and a friend who had a couple shipments in a row was always dealt in a professional manner and them re-shipping (the last time they even shipped it registered mail). They even replaced and that had gotten damaged in the post.

On the other hand... NEVER order from New Wave.. I know so many people who have been screwed over by them, never got their money back, were charged before anything was sent, and when stuff arrived it was poorly packed and destroyed.

It all depends on how much you want to spend - I agree on discount hobby. I've had a good 10 separate orders from them, with no problems, quick shipping, and nothing damaged in transit. I've also had good luck with http://www.brookhursthobbies.com, and they ship for free for orders over $25 last time I ordered there...
For larger orders, try http://www.thewarstore.net

if you want painted miniatures, you'll either have to contract somebody individually to paint them for you, or buy them off of eBay or a similar auction site. I've had some luck with miniatures off of eBay, but some of it was good and some of it was bad. You can get a decently painted mini on there for $8-15, but top notch sellers get well over $100, with one getting over $350 recently for a single mini:

I've had very good experiences with Great Canadian Miniatures
www.gc-minis.com

They don't have pictures on their website but if you figure out what you want to buy on New Wave or somewhere you can order it from Great Canadian miniatures.

The other advantage is that, in addition to the online discount, the prices are in Canadian dollars which amounts to another discount for Americans.
