So, name it Cthulhu, Azatoth, Hastur, Dagon; Lots of Great Old ones to choose from.

hey all. lots of thanks for some great inspiration from this thread.

I'm currently thinking of using "DayMer" (DAY-MARE) or similar, which brings in the religious element, stays simple, and isn't straight-out synonymous with a million other disaster-day names.

Plus, it loosely translates to "Earth Day" which I find somewhat amusing.

Some cultural taboos regarding discussing the event are probably forthcoming too (not sure how I'm going to handle this, but I somewhat like the idea (and it helps explain why I haven't spent more time telling my players about this stuff - sweet "practical" world-design)... My game just got delayed for a couple of weeks, so I've got some bonus scheming time now (if the weather stays dreary, anyway).
