Help me! RPG Now needs a Credit Card for payment - and I don't own one!

I just went to RPGNow and bought a couple of things. In there is an option for me to put money (gift certificates) into someone elses account. So if your willing to send the money to me via paypal and tell me your account name at RPGNow at the very least I can give you back your money that way so you can buy what you want yourself.

Nope, that doesn't work either. It's asking for card type, and there's no debit option. It's asking for a card verification number, and I dont have one. It's askingn for an expiration date, and as far as I know, I don't have one

Dammit, this sucks :(

Does your debit card have a visa or mastercard logo on it? if so, you do not need to enter it as a debit, just use it as a credit card of the apropriate type.

If that fails, ask a friend or relative you can trust and see if they would be willing to help.

Most larger stores like Wal-Mart and the like now offer Visa Giftcards. It's basically a visa debit card with a set value. You put money into it just like a gift card, but it has the visa number and visa logo, so you can use it anywhere you can use a visa credit card (with rare exceptions, like renting a car).

In Canada we use our ATM cards as our debit cards, they are not affiliated with any credit card companies, and can be used at virtually any store in Canada, but not online, over the phone, etc...

You said that you had a Paypal account.

Do you have your bank account directly linked to your Paypal account, or just the debit card?

I suggest you chose the "Paypal" option on RPGNow. You will have to select it more than once, they keep wanting you to enter a credit card on RPGNow - even when it appears you have gotten to Paypal, you have to choose the option once more, because it is set to "No Paypal Account" by default, and they want you to enter a credit card. If you choose the correct option, they will want you to log into Paypal. Once you get logged into Paypal, you can choose any of the options you have in Paypal to pay. That's how I do it, I pay using Paypal, I don't give RPGNow a credit card.

99% of all debit cards can function as credit cards.
From the consumers point of view (for the most part). But as I understand it, they are quite different from the merchant's POV.

Not at all, IME. I've used my Visa debit card for many years online (and offline) now, and it's always been treated exactly as any Visa credit card would have been.

Whenever a site demands a credit card, that's what I use. It's never failed, thus far.

Nor will it, its a 'credit card', but what he is using is a regular old debit card, not a 'check card' with a Visa (or whatever) logo.

No, mine isn't a check card. It's a debit card. Honestly! My bank even says so! :D
