Help me understanding the current rule regarding immunity

So wait, immunity to fire negates cold/fire damage and effects from that attack?

No.

Fire is a damage type, and not a condition or specific effect.

So it satisfies 1 and thusly, you are immune to all damage with the fire type, regardless of the keywords of the power.

However, effects do not have a damage type, and therefore 1 does not effect it.

The ONLY keyword that immunity can completely negate is Gaze. All others (even Poison) only have a subset of immunities.

(For example, Immunity to Poison will render you immune to all effects of a Prismatic Ray, except for the fire damage, which is not poison damage, nor a non-damaging effect of a poison power. The will defense-triggered stuff IS a non-damaging effect of a poison power, so immunity DOES work.)

No, if you have immunity to Fire and take 10 Fire and Cold you take 10 damage. The quote from the MM update:

Some powers deal damage that combines two or more damage types. The target must have resistance or immunity to all the specified damage types to reduce or ignore all the damage.

Since you do not have immunity to all specified damage types (Fire and Cold) you do not "reduce or ignore all the damage". The rule is ambiguous about whether any of the damage is reduced.

In the old system an immunity was (at least) a 50% resistance. Now it's 0% unless you are immune to all keywords.

No, if you have immunity to Fire and take 10 Fire and Cold you take 10 damage. The quote from the MM update:

Which update file and which entry are you referring to? As I have quoted in the first post, the newest update does not mention about immunity, just resistance.

I think he's referring to the PHB. Since the MM2 wording does not discuss immunity and multiple damage types the PHB general rule should be controlling. It clearly states that you need immunity to ALL damage types in order to take no damage.

Non-damaging effects OTOH are negated by immunity to the given keyword. There really is no definition anywhere of what happens with non-damaging effects that have multiple keywords but this kind of thing is pretty rare and usually the result of added keywords and can be sorted by the DM.
