Help! Someone's going to play a Frenzied Berserker!

One of the characters in our party has retired and the player is introducing a new one that he is going to eventually make a Frenzied Berserker. I have heard that these can be dangerous companions and want to know some tips for surviving in a party with an FB (aside from killing the character in his sleep, as I want there to be some party cohesion, and *avoid* PC killing from any side).

Stop adventuring with him. Or min max your DCs for you hold persons and other spells that can hold him. Because he will turn on you and that will be bad.

Another option is learn to fly and make sure he can't but that only works if you have room to get away and not in a dungeon.

Good luck!! A sane player would talk to the player thinking about this class and talk to the DM and just handle it that way.

Kill him in his sleep. Oh wait...

Wand of Calm Emotions.

Invisibility potions. Quaff one just before the last enemy goes down.

Dominate Person. He can't attack you if he can't disobey you.

Actually, adventuring with a frenzied berserker is pretty easy. Build archers and stay WAAAAAY behind. Sooner or later he will not survive and you will still have won the battle.

I played in a Con game a few years back with a FB.

Luckly I was playing a Dervish, so here is what we would do....

Once the enemy was gone the rest of the party would move away, as I moved in, shifting everything I could to AC. Which would put me in the high 40's. If he did not make the first will check I would engage hitting once, which since his AC didn't get ove 20 ever was not hard. Then just keep in his way as he swung at me with a Full Power Attack, untill he made the Will save.

While risky he really only had a chance of connecting on the first swing or with a crit, that he would rarely confirm. This worked well for the game we played, but don't think it would be aa good long term solution because sooner or later the dice will catch up with you.

Good luck.

I would ask the DM why he would even consider allowing such a silly class into his campaign. Immune to being killed no matter how much damage it takes?

Make him take a level or 3 in warblade with a goal of getting Iron Heart Surge. Then he can de-frenzy himself at will. Goes well with crackers and wine. :D

That's got to be fun for the other players. You all have to play the same character archetypes and play a support role. Woo!

That sounds like an interesting NPC group to me, except for the "broken class" bit.
