Help: What series is this?

I've been mulling this over for years and years, and it bothers me that I can't figure out what this show was. My google-fu fails me, and no one I know recognizes it. Perhaps someone here knows...?

There was a sci-fi series in the US in the 80s (roughly the era of the original "V", as I recall), and must have only run for for one season. I believe it was about a family of four on the run from some totalitarian regime (complete with black-clad stormtroopers with cheesy hovercars & lasers, maybe?). Each episode was more or less focused on getting to an "obelisk" and teleporting to somewhere else (or something).

Sorry, that's all I've got-- and that might be completely wrong, or a mish-mash of a couple shows. No idea the year, who was in it, if/how it ended.

(Although the guys in black chasing them sounds like you might be mixing the Logan's Run series that ran about the same time in TV history in as well.)

@Sir Brennen: Well, I'm sure it wasn't Logan's Run-- though elements of it pop up in so many places, there could be confusion on my part. Fantastic Journey is definitely in the right ballpark, but I distinctly remember that one, and it was several years before the times I'm remembering. I bet it's a direct ancestor of whatever I'm think of, though.

Both of those series are quite memorable.
The one that haunts me... is not


@Elodan: I think Otherworld may be a winner! Definitely has the obelisk thing going on, and was short lived-- and after reading up on it, a couple of the names definitely ring familiar. Maybe I can track it down and give it a look-see sometime. Thanks!
