Help with a Fighter/Ranger

Knowledge Devotion from Complete Champion is an awesome feat for a high INT fighter. You roll a knowledge check based on the type of foes your fighting and get bonuses to attack and damage based on the results. The best part is it's a minimum +1/+1 no matter what and if you can get a 36 it's +5/+5.

Ranger gets almost all the good knowledge skills too (they are only missing knowledge planes and arcana)

This fits great with a ranger too since it would add damage to each arrow and each hit when TWF as well as off setting the penalties to hit from Rapid Shot and TWF.

I do sincerely appreciate everyone's input, but recently everyone decided that we'll be playing 4.0 (which being a new to D&D, is quite irritating since I'm not back to square one). Still interested in the fighter/ranger idea as a hybrid class, but I'll be posting a thread over at the 4e board. Again, I do appreciate everyone's input!
