Help with a Lawyer Class

Dark Ranger

First Post
My campaign just kicked off (in the FR) and I'm afraid that the first adventure (NeMoren's Vault) will give the PCs wat too much gold by the time they finish it and have reached 2nd level.

Instead of not giving out the gp I'm going to have a Sembian Lawyer (the campaign is set on the borders of Cormyr and Sembia), accompanied by a half dozen warriors and a gnomish diviner (for the lie detector test) declare all the goods from the adventure the property of a wealthy money lender who the deceased Baron (former owner of the gold and magic items) had borrowed heavily from.

I know the lawyer should be the Expert class, I'm just no sure wht the class skills should be. Also any good suggestions about Feats would be great too. Thanks!!!

The following bureuacrat appears in my own campaign:

Male Human Exp6: HD 6d6-6; hp 15; Init -1 (Dex -1); Spd 30 ft.; AC 9 (-1 Dex); Atk Slam melee (1d3-1 subdual); Face/Reach: 5 ft. by 5 ft./5 ft.; SQ -; AL LN; SV Fort +1, Ref +1, Will +8; Str 8, Dex 9, Con 9, Int 16, Wis 14, Cha 8
Skills and Feats: Diplomacy +8, Bluff +8, Innuendo +6, Intimidate +8, Knowledge (Geography) +7, Knowledge (History) +12, Knowledge (Local) +14, Knowledge (Nobility) +12, Profession (Scribe) +13, Profession (Lawyer) +11, Profession (Courtier) +11, Sense Motive +11, Iron Will, Leadership, Skill Focus (Profession (Scribe)), Skill Focus (Knowledge (Local)).

He is actually a member of government. A soliciter might look a little different. If I remember correctly, bluff and innuendo are his cross class skills in the above. The rest are class.

wow! sorry to hijack, but I just checked out bastionpress for the first time. Thanx gamecat!
The books look really cool, especially the Alchemy book.
Does anyone have these books? Are they as good as they seem?

Wouldn't a Bureaucrat like this benefit greatly from an above average Charisma, since a lot of what he/she does every day involves speaking and selling ideas to other bureaucrats and town-folk?

Plus, I have not met too many bureaucrats that I thought were wise. :D

Corwin, yah I thought that too.... but then I thought how cool it was that this dude had a low CHA but he was damn good at diplomacy anyway. Seemed to make the NPC more interesting... and real in the same way that the WIS score is too high, if you know what I mean ;-)
I do agree though.... I don't know *any* wise buraucrats heh!
