D&D 5E Help with a padlock build?

Wow nice stats. That helps a lot not have to worry about ASIs so much. I would personally stick with Tome as it's most versatile IMO and you can still get a regular familiar with it. Having a super familiar is very nice, but I don't think it's worth an entire subclass selection as it has little to no other features. Blade would be great at later levels as you would get to add your Str AND Char to damage at Warlock 12, but again, it's pretty limited, and it doesn't make you much better at all until Warlock 12. No point in Shillelagh with 18 Str.

I know I want paladin 7 minimum and ultimately would like to go paladin 11/lock 9. Bunch of slots 1-3, improved smite, 2 level 5slots/SR. Only sad thing is not getting Find Greater Steed. Still up in the air on pact. But I got 2 levels to figure it out.

Don't plan too far ahead.
Actually I am now finding out that even planning for 6 levels is difficult enough.

You man never reach a certain level when your combination may finally be mechanically better. So you need a backup plan until you reach that level.

You also don't know if your character is fun at the table or only fun in theory.

A lot of things may happen in an actual campaign so you might deviate from your plans.

All that said, it is good to have a goal for your character, but usually everything changes.

So my first goal would be:

Pala 2
Then warlock 2 and then look what happens. Greenflame blade is a normal warlock spell so you are good.

Hardest part is the pact to take now. Tome would be fun with Shillelagh and rituals are always useful. Chain gives me a pseudodragon to play with and send spells through after I'm out of healing light. Blade gives me the magic weapon for anime factor. And more smites but those come on late at that point
Tome is not only a great pact, but it helps your party out considerably since they can scribe ritual spells for you and free up preparation slots! Between that and your aura, you'll be an incredibly party-friendly team mate.
