Help with Designing a Monk

Hi, I need help with designing a monk character.

I have the following stats to play with, 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, and an 8.

The first level has to be a Fighter, the 3 levels of Monk. The character is female and is human. I'm leaning for an 8 in Charisma, because the character wears a mask...

My questions are, where should I put the stats, and what feats should I focus on. For Monk Bonus Feats, I'll likely pick Stunning Fist, and at 2nd, Combat Reflexes (unless someone can tell me why Deflect would be a better choice).

Thanks in advance, I've never DMd a monk before, and this is going to be an important NPC that will adventure with the PC's.

Ok, I see the Wisdom to AC bonus now, what about feats?

One for Human
One for 1st Level
One for a Flaw
One for Fighter Bonus
Stunning Fist for Bonus Monk 1st
One for 3rd Level
Combat Reflexes for Bonus Monk 2nd

Also, this character will use a +1/+1 Quarterstaff to attack with...

Where would you put the +1 Ability Point at 4th Level?

It's a shame you need a fighter level in there - you're giving up quite a bit of skill points and limiting the skills to which the ones you have can apply.

It just goes with a story... there really isn't much I can do there. I'm just so unfamiliar with the feats that a Monk would normally take.

I'm thinking Dodge and Mobility, perhaps, Deflect Arrows

What sources do you allow? Any particular setting? Do you want the monk to be a powergaming NPC or is there some particular flavor you are looking for? Or, are you looking for suggestions on a particular flavor for monk (e.g. a twf-monk or vow of poverty)?

I run a Greyhawk hybrid, and any Wizard's Source is fine. I have the Race and Complete books and will stick to those, unless there is something specific elsewhere.

We use the flaw system from Unearthed Arcana.

I know that the monk will use the Quarterstaff, so TWF might be a good choice if it works with the Flurry. A Vow of Poverty sounds neat, I didn't think of that. Where is that from?

I have this character as a fighter, who due to some tragedy, eventually joined something similar to an all female nunery/monk training ground.

At level 6 make sure you take Improved Natural Weapon. It is a MUST have for any Monk! ;)

Yeah, I noticed that debate...

I'm thinking TWF and Dodge, Mobility. I'll also look at Deflect Arrows, although Improved Grapple could be cool.

Any feats out of the other Complete books that I'm overlooking?
