help with speed

If a human character is wearing fullplate armor and a pair of boots of striding and springing is his speed, taking into account speed above 50ft is considered supernatural for a human.

a. 50 ft (30 x2(-10))

b. 40ft (30 x2, max 50ft (-10))

I'd say his new speed is 40. If I'm right medium and heavy armor reduce base speed to 20. So those 20ft will be doubled by the boots.

40 ft. The boots double your current speed.

With the boots, his base speed is 60 feet. 60 foot movement in heavy armor is 40 feet. (Alternatively, huamn speed in fullplate is 20 feet, doubled to 40 feet. This comes up with the same result as long as there's no rounding.)

Right, what CRGreathouse said.

If the human is not wearing armor, their speed is calculated as 30 x 2 = 60. When they don the armor, this gets lowered to 40.

Or, if they wear the armor first, their speed is lowered from 30 to 20, then doubled because of the boots to 40. Still works out either way
