Curdy led the heroes about a half mile out of town down the road. It led toward a dark edifice further down, but they stopped about halfway. There was clear evidence of the fight with the goblins on the road, including a couple goblin corpses and plenty of blood and turned earth.

OOC: Make a Survival roll to pick up the trail. I assume you have light sources? If not, you can still try if you have darkvision, but it will be at disadvantage. Then give me a marching order for following the trail.[/OOO]

Liam sighed. No one was willing to help a blind man. What was the world coming to.

Liam once again set his mind through his mental disciplines, and once again the world around him came in to focus, of a sorts. He followed the rest, still using his walking cane

Once at the scene, Liam walked around the perimeter, searching for signs of a trail.

OOC: Liam doesn't need light sources.

Bonus action: focus on Third Eye Discipline.

Haldor and Liam manage to pick up a pretty clear trail. At least it is pretty clear here. It heads south of the road into the low grassy hills.

Mindra follows the trail of the goblins as the others follow along behind with the torchlight, aided by Liam and Haldor also on the trail. Coriana, Curdy, Theremin, and Garrett trail along behind. The tracks move through the grassy hills on the west side of the river south of the road. After an hour, the river veers away east as they pass a bridge, but pick up a dirt road going south. Liam loses the trail there, but the others still seem to have it.

The tracks continue in the hills south, shadowing the trail. After the third hour they pick up the river again to the east. The trail avoids a couple farms in the area. In the middle of the fourth hour there is a rustle in the grass and a growl from the tall grass.

A goblin pops up next to Curdy, swinging his scimitar, but the big lad dodges the attack. The goblin then disappears into the grass.

Haldor sees movement in the grass and a goblin leaps out, slashing with a scimitar, scoring a telling blow on the dwarf!

Mindra also notices movement in the grass as a goblin leaps at her, but the blade skitters off her armor, leaving her unhurt. The goblin darts back into the obscuring grass once more.

OOC: Roll initiative. The grass is about waist height, enough to conceal a goblin or halfling. Counts as Heavy Obscurement (Disadvantage on ranged attack rolls; melee within 5 feet will be fine). Wolves are medium and gain no concealment. Mind who has the torches. Surprise round goblins have surprise.
