Heroes of the Elemental Chaos Excerpts

My thought is, "Oh good. Another Wizard. I was just thinking we needed more of those." :uhoh:

Yeah, no kidding. WOTC lives up to its name, but it is surprising all those wizards out west have not capsized the whole continent yet.

I, for one, am really sick of all the arcane casters having to be wizards.

I agree! WTB some elemental rune-priests and maybe other divine casters who served the primordials. Would be interesting to see how they would combine the divine and elemental aspect.

I'm sick of the arcane power source altogether. Where is the love for the nonDruid nonBarbarian primal classes?

Seeker, Shaman, Warden? Remember them?

or how about that Avenger and Invoker? Those guys are pretty cool, am I right?

But dear god no we need another wizard build. Definitely.

In hindsight, I'm not sure there ever should have been an Arcane power source. I mean what is that really but a sacred cow mish-mash of other power sources already present or in the waiting? I think I might have preferred wizard schools and other magics to be their own power sources or divvied into the existing ones, and wizards as a class could have been allowed to cherry pick powers from multiple Arcane-like sources.

I definitely wanted an independent Necromancy power source, and for that matter a Necromancer, and evocation spells should have fallen under an Elemental power source.

I already have a conversion of the Witch into a Warlock build on the burner, maybe I should make this my hobby and try Sha'ir into another class build.

Would love to see with what you come up with :) and would add a pint but I can't.

I can´t see the problem at all...
we have too many classes. Wizard is the most appropriate class for the shair. Arcane power source is the appropriate power source. The shair familars give the shair interesting controllery features.
Warlocks would not fit. Period. Making him a sorcerer, maybe. But I don´t like the sorcerer as a class...

By saying "wizard" it just means that its powers can be used--without multi-classing--by others, and it can in turn use wizard powers. Which is nice given its key mechanic. But its still the only "subclass" that has the mechanics it has.

Goliath Sortmheart Warden

Do you think there could be something in there for a Goliath from the mountains ??
Maybe around Lightening and Thunder :)
