Hey, Merric, You're in the Keep on the Borderlands Encounters

We just got our kit for Season 3 of Encounters, which is Keep on the Borderlands. Merric is one of the PCs, a male halfling rogue (thief).

The other characters are

• Quinn: male human fighter (knight)
• Sola: female elf cleric (sun warpriest)
• Hagen: male human cleric (storm warpriest)
• Eldeth: female dwarf fighter (slayer)
• Berrian: male eladrin wizard (mage)

Sunpriest? I take it that's the Essentials take on the Devoted Cleric?


Are these characters typical of WotC pre-gens (a little sub-optimal accross the board to give players room to improve on their performance when they make their own), or more like today's Red Box Game Day characters (with the Slayer's and Theives a bit more on the powergamed side)?

The answer seems to lie in the list of common names for each race. "Merric" just happens to be in the male halfling list. I am surprised that my name hasn's found its way into an adventure yet, since it is in the female human list.
