Sitting at 17th level currently. The campaign is going strong and will likely continue for quite some time. So that number will definitely go up. :)

Since I mostly DM does it count that I ran a game from 1st to 23rd over three years that is only in hiatus waiting for a friend to finish his downtime after a year in Iraq?

Doesn't help that most of our games in between that time and since my friend left for Iraq last year that have started at 5th. Seems to have become the default level so our character are established and know and can use the setting in our playing. That being said I have only taken an actual character of my own to 13th from 5th. Sucks but he died an exalted death to save the multiverse so fair enough! Took the NPC wizard in the above game from 5th to 23rd when she joined the game (other PCs where also 4th to 5th level at the time).

I have one pc imc who just hit 27th after starting at 1st in 3e. I also have a character imc who started at 1st in 2e that just hit 27th.

Personally, 1st to 6th in about 8 months, in a Midnight campaign, before my PC died - I was the last one to die from the original PC group. I haven't really GM'd a successful 3e game from 1st yet, most I've seen is 1st to 3rd or 4th - my current game started at 1st, currently 3rd, should go to at least 8th hopefully. In a campaign I started ca 6th the PCs are currently 18th, that's the biggest spread I've GM'd.

For now...

First FR campaign, from level 1 to 7, campaign stopped on hiatus there.
Second FR campaign (Northern Journey), character went from level 1 to 10, died.
The "one shot campaign": level 1 to 2. Was supposed to be a filler setting for when the FR DM lacks inspiration, but was completely dropped after just one game.
First oriental campaign: level 1 to 5.
Second oriental campaign: level 10 to 11.

First PBP: level 1 to 3, ongoing.
Second PBP: level 4 to 4, stopped by other players.
Third PBP: level 3 to 3, stopped by disappearing DM.
Fourth PBP: level 4 to 4, hopefully not stopped, just a bit slow...

And for the campaign I DM myself, they've been from level 1 to 8.

So, here it is, my highest character is level 11. To be honest, I've also a level 12 character, but it's an NPC (with NPC array and gear value) and the rest of the team is only keeping her as long as they need a meatshield (since said meatshield is also a Zentharim spy, and they know it).

Is he still in 2e, or did he get converted? If he did, at what level?

curious glass.

He was converted when I converted my campaign with the release of 3.0, though he didn't get any play for prolly another two years. He was, I'd guess, 14th? when he was converted.

He'd gone the distance in 2e, that's for sure. Why, his name has even become a verb meaning, essentially, to do something with horrifically bad repercussions, such as pulling a lever that just happens to release the villain that later comes and depopulates your continent. (Oft-repeated pc line in my epic game: "Don't Lester anything!")

I had to vote for 2-4th level

As a dm the breakdown is

My main group has gone from 11th to 17th but they were converted from 2nd ed.

My 2nd player group just hit 4th level and this group is less than 6 months old but we only play once a month.

We have had 2 other guys try dming ( one of them has started 4 different campaigns) but they seem to fizzle out when player hit 3rd level. I guess they weren't up to outwitting me and the other 2 vet players as we always do C when the DM has prepared for A and B.

My 1 to 22 game went three years. The one that went to 28 was... I think a year and a half or so, maybe two years.

Two very different GMs.

Hummm the DM follow the exact rules to calculate Xp ?

BTW congratulation, this a long run...
