Highest price for a miniature?

WizKids Games, the makers of Mage Knight, are running a special contest with their newest expansion. They've inserted a few special figures, the four horseman of the Apocolypse, in some some boxes. The odds of getting one are 1 in 15,000.

The contest involves getting one of each of the horseman in one location & taking a picture and sending it to WizKids. First prize is an all expense paid trip to GenCon.

Well, someone who lives near GenCon pulled one (War), and put it up on eBay. Someone want to take a bid? It's a really cool looking Mage Knight fig, but I don't think it's quite worth what it's going for :)

$1,225 for a *cough* toy? That's probably the entire value of the trip to GenCon all by itself!

According to the contest rules, the value of the prize (the GenCon trip) is $2,000. Of course, that assumes you manage to find the people with the other 3 Horseman & manage to be the first four to get them together and send in proof. Also, what if you don't want to go to GenCon?

Aside: It seems it originally had a "Buy it Now" price of $300. A number of people on the Mage Knight forums are kicking themselves for not getting in on that. One person apparently missed it because he had to register on eBay to bid.

BTW, does anyone have any idea about RPG products known to have gone for such large amounts? I've heard that the Orange cover version of "Palace of the Silver Princess" did.
