Hints about Complete Arcane?

I agree with Joe, if they make CA more like CW, they are on the right track.

Regarding my comments about the Tome and Blood Pr-classes:

Blood Magus...just didn't make sense to me. IF you're going to use blood magic you need more than just the ability to manipulate you own blood.

Acolyte of the Skin...eh after fixing the BoVD Pr-classes to make the spellcasting ones more effective, (that's what I did) I wasn't THAT enthused with this. (Plus the fact there are better demonic based types in othe d20 products I enjoy)

Elemental Savant...FR did it better.

The Alienist...I just think it only works best in Eberron.

Mindbender, eh give me a Psionic based character AND the fact psionics are different, you'll see I'll enjoy that better.

Fatespinner...I prefered the one from FR about fate stuff.

Mage of the Arcane Order: Got his butt handed to him with Waterdeep's version. Plus I never favor that much "mage guilds" anyway.

Anyway you folks can wish what you want. I just want some better ideas from this book than what CD gave us.

That's why I think it needs to be updated. :)

Seconded!

I dislike Forgotten Realms products because they are notorious for power creep. Everything's just way too ramped up in that setting. Comments about how "FR did it better" just make my skin crawl.

/me contemplates trainwrecks like Samurai from CW and winces mightily.

Depends upon the concept, m'boy. You're just sad it's not a blood witch. It doesn't need to be. That niche is already filled. ;)

/me wonders what products those would be.

The mechanics needed a little work... you could still tell that they were learning how to build PrCs. When I made an epic expansion for this class, I had to go back and fix half the class abilities to scale correctly. But the concept is solid and moody, perhaps one of the best such concepts I have seen.

Elemental Savant...FR did it better.

/me bonks Nightfall with a boffo stick. ;)

At least say something substantial, like Elemental Savant is overpowered...

The Alienist...I just think it only works best in Eberron.

See Sepulchrave's story hour. Any campaign with Lovecraftian madness is the right time for an alienist! :D

Mindbender, eh give me a Psionic based character AND the fact psionics are different, you'll see I'll enjoy that better.

Got yer back there! (/me boots Mindbender out the door)

Why Psion, are you saying that you think that CW is inferior to CD?

I think he is saying that both books stink. :P

My opinion of the Complete books so far is that they fairly bad. The feats were kinda cool in CW, but the books was just not great.
