Hiring a guide

Voadam

Legend
IMC the players are staying at a high end inn/hotel at the tiefling quarter of an extraplanar city and the maitre D (sp?) has got them in touch with a city guide who can show them around the city's duergar, tiefling and other markets as they have said they want to get in touch with a source for fine metal goods.

How much would a city guide normally charge?

Sounds like he's evil, so as much as he thinks he can get away with! :]

Profession (Guide) pays what, 1 GP/point over 15 for a week's work? How good is he? Does he also have Knowledge (Local)? Language skills?

In general, a guide won't cost that much. Small change, for level 2+ PCs! :D

Yes, though tieflings can be any alignment, he's got a touch of evil as he's a shifty devil of a character :) In my campaign though on Concordant Opposition (where the city is) everything and everybody is neutral for alignment effects. The paladin, who has been told this multiple times, still detects evil on everything. He consistently gets a "no evil detected" response.
