I miss them too, and had actually been thinking about starting a variant series, which would be short essays about various historical matters that aren't necessarily available on the web.

Can somebody 'splain this to me? I like history, but am not sure if this is gaming history or history of your past weekend's game or something else altogether.

Every Monday Alsih20 would pick a subject tangentially related to D&D or history and do some research. He would then post a bunch of great links related to the subject, which would act as a very good primer. The subject could be broad or narrow, and many, many people (including myself) would look forward to his post every Monday to see where they were going this week.

I loved the threads and will look forward to seeing them again. Nearly every week I ended up finding something to inspire me.

To Lawrence of Arabica: Ooo! Your idea sounds really interesting. If you start posting those articles, I'll be reading 'em.

It's just exactly this sort of thing that makes EN World unlike other web communities. All these smart, interesting people posting topics for research, discussion and just plain fun!
