D&D General Hive Mind Evil?

Well another sentient race that is completely alien to us might find humans to be an easy source of monkey bacon.

It's arrogant for us to assume we can eat a pug, a sentient pug might decide to eat us.

Replace pig with insect person and yeah.

It doesn't require a high intelligence to figure out that humans moving into your hunting grounds isn't going to be good for your species long term.
He'll it happened irl with different groups of humans. All buffalo dead for example....

The thing is that you might feel that pigs are lower lifeforms and killing them doesn't really have a similar moral weight than killing a human would. But a massive collective sentience composed of thousands of minds might feel similarly about measly humans. It's just a matter of perspective.

This. Your child to another species could just be veal or lamb equivalent.

I think you could at least argue that such a race is neutral. They're not being evil they're hungry and there's this large defenseless monkey bacon walking past right there.

It's a matter of perspective subjectively.

Alignments are not subjective.

From a Queens perspective killing some humans won't wipe out all of them. Killing a queen would, so she might only recognize a human Ruler as an equal. The Queen might have a personal code to never murder, but that only applies to "equals" like Queens and Rulers.

That's not a bad idea.

The hives aren't going genocidal vs humans just get them out of this area.

If they stay and get eaten it's an added bonus but yeah you can do a lot with 5000-20000 troops.

The hive soldiers can double as hunters.

(y) Jeffery Dahmer likes this

He broke our social mores.

We've been in top of the food chain so long we're kinda arrogant.

If another species looks at us as monkey bacon and thinks we destroy the environment like locusts......

We eat all sorts of tasty animals. Maybe another species would look at us the same.
