For some added amusement, stop by the hardware store on the way to the amusement park. Pick up a handful of really large nuts and bolts. As you stand on the platform waiting your turn on the roller coaster and watching your friends pull out of the station, make sure they see you hefting the nuts and bolts in your hand with a maniacal grin on your face... :p

I like it. I like it a lot. :D I knew that there was a reason why I hung around this place.

Just doing my part... :p

Gotta go for now, HIVEROOS! Catch you on the next time through! :)

I've just returned. Who did the "Hellish Cauldron"? Looks cool...

BTW Do you find having message boards on RPGHost to be condusive to a lot of traffic?

Not sure who did it, I was just going around the web earlier. Might see if I can track down the artist (will give me something to do this long weekend).

I've had forums apart from RPGHost before, and they got a bit of traffic... the messageboards get a lot more traffic at RPGHost though, and although there hasn't been a substantial increase at Emerald Night (about 5%), it is helping to generate interest in the Emerald Press side of things.

People get mad when you directly link to downloads from their site. It's not cool and gives people the impression that the work is yours to distribute. You should be careful about doing that.

I may look into setting up different message boards. I removed the links to mine from my main page because they weren't getting any real traffic anyway.

Yeah it's not something I usually do, unless I have permission first (there is another site out there similar to mine and we have a deal going). The link to Hell's Cauldron was emailed to me and I posted it quickly on my break today. I'll check out the site later on and update the links :) And see if the artist is on there.

As for the boards, just send an email to James and ask...you may find you have to do a bit of work at the start to get your boards active (many of the initial posts on my boards were by me just trying to generate some talk). But if you weren't getting any traffic, you'll now have around 5,000 members of the boards when you begin :)

You might want to be careful about making announcements on the News page about things like that, too. Publishers make announcements for things they generate themselves, either from in-house or from submissions to them when they have ownership rights to the material...not just permission to link. I only tell you this because I consider you a friend and do not want to see you get a reputation as someone taking credit for other people's work.

I may do something like that. I'm not sure I want all of my eggs in the RPGHost basket, though, in a manner of speaking.
