Hey, EK. I have posted TWICE to your boards tonight! I'm currently reading the war thread. I should have gotten in on that one from the beginning.

I have yet to run an Epic game, though I try to bring that epic feel to all my games. :D Myforte is in the roleplay, and plots. Combat has always been a weak point with me. I tend to be to dry in my combats. Tactically I am fine, and those encounters where I spend time to utilize terrain and tactics are always memorable.

Hehe, I noticed that! Will you be the lucky one to win a copy of our first product? Only time will tell...

The war thread certainly was interetsing.

I have chosen not to post to it. Though i have much to say on the matter (all of them) I think I will leave that one alone.

I am looking at the sex and dnd thread. This recently came up in my game...

Normally I am OK with this under any circumstances, I have even had games where the characters were married, had kids, families and everything. This last game, an NPC had relations with a PC. The NPC is basically my character, and the PC is a player who I am very fond of. Should not normally be a problem, except this is not something I can ever pursue IRL. I'm tempted to not let that situation arise again, just because I don't ant to seem like I am encouraging anything besides a good game.

I can certainly see why that would be a probelm. I'm actually thinking about bringing up the subject of rape in one of my games... not quite sure how to approach it or even if I should.

Rape is a difficult subject to be sure. When it really came up for the first time in one of my games it had been eased in by references to rape being pretty common after battles, and bandits. Wife taking and other forms of debasing women were pretty well accepted. So when it happened to the first time to a PC, she understood. I pretty graphic with the attack itself, the struggle and her attempts to get free or kill him. I stopped there. I did not go into the act itself. I did give her the opportunity to tell me if she did anything during that non game time, and she did, which I thenm used to end the event, allowing her to escape, leaving him unconscious.

I would consider, if you have the means, to use a NPC, prefereably a sister or someone close the the PCs. Describe it from the victimes point of view, and make it very real to the players. Its still personal, and meaningful but not scarring.

Thats a good idea. I was going to use it sort of as a, dar I say it, 'Shock and Awe' tactic to get the players suddenly focused on the game.

mt most ecent "shock and awe" tactic was the object of the rescue I described. It was a players brother, and I also had the players 3 year old nephew in danger.

Great fun.

Undfind: elfhiem?

Another one I'm going to use is also a rescue, but it is the rescue of the party that got TPK'd a month ago. Unfortuneatley for them, a hobgoblin necromancer has raised them from the dead and is now using them as undead slaves...

oddball question: Do your female characters wear revealing clothes? When I say yours, I mean any characters in your games.
