That sounds thrilling Crothian :)

I'm in the "humming and computer sounds" camp too; but at least my brain is being well used tonight!

Might be unresponsive for a little while, need to concentrate on this.

What, is a fricative?

It's a hissing sound that you make by constricting (but not completely obstructing) the airflow through your mouth.

English fricatives: s, z, f, v, th (as in both "thing" and "the), sh, and the sound in the middle of "measure" and "leisure".

Curious, how long does it take you to do a page panel like the ones you displayed? That always seems to be the kicker with web comics - not how good or bad they are, but how frequently they update.

Well, I'd probably make sure I had a good head start before I actually set up the site. As for how long it takes me, that depends. Usually a nice full-page layout on 11 x 16 takes about 45 minutes to an hour and a half. A web comic would be a lot easier though, as I could draw seperately and worry about the layout and frames when I scan the pics in.

Probably update every other day...that sounds about right.

I think my brain went on strike last week. It would explain some things....

Ah thanks . . . guess everything has a name.

Yup! :D

And I'm studying speech sounds at the moment, so reading and writing about fricatives (and the rest) is part of my job tonight!

My brain is in a jar marked "Pickled Pig's Feet, $1.99" on the top shelf of the storage rack in my shed.

Maybe I should dust the ol' grey matter off and give it a whirl. Didn't seem to help me much before, but you never know. Could be fun. ;)

Shouldn't it be marked "Abby Normal" ?

It would have been, but unfortunately I was fresh out of Abby NormalTM brand pickled pigs feet jars. Had to settle for the generic type.
