Ok . . so you are not comfortable with the prophesy. . . What if they had a festival to try to ward off the deprivations of the remaining dragonkin? Which includes a very large wood framed cloth dragon represting the dragon god, carried around by the pole bearers, along with various other small one man puppets and kites representing the other creatures that went with him.

There could also be puppet shows (maybe do shadow puppets like in Japan? Indonesia?) telling the story of the gods' war and the dragon god leaving etc.

Some kind of ceremony(ies) all designed to try to somehow mystically calm the dragonkin.

Could be a good idea. *ponders*
