Representing the Hive? We ARE the Hive. Every one is but a facet of the whole, and therefore, only one mind exists: The HIVEMIND.

Ask, but be prepared to face assimilation.

You just asked a question of the hive. But, yes. And now you are done. For you have already asked a question.

We're zen like that.

Kidding. Go ahead and ask all you want.

oooo - zen... :)

Is zen shiny?

Was that one of my questions? Drat, gotta be more careful...

Ok:

How does an outsider tell who is Hive and who is merely associated with / freinds with the Hive?

How many people are a part of the Hivemind? Does anyone actually know?

How does one become a part of the Hivemind? Is it by invitation, association, simple assimilation over time (Hivemind by osmosis? :D ), or what?

Does the Hivemind have a greater purpose? Or is it just about having friends, having fun, and being able to fill up threads at least once per day?

And perhaps most of all, are you guys always so fun to be around?

Oh - I almost forgot one. Is it true that none of you are considered flanked unless all of you are flanked, or is that just an exaggeration?

Irrelevant. Soon ALL will be of the HIVEMIND.

See previous response.

You are already assimilated. Come join your brethren.

What purpose is greater than that of the masses?

And perhaps most of all, are you guys always so fun to be around?

Of course! You should see the Hive on a BUSY day!

That is jut not true. The Hive is immune to flanking/criticals/bad haircuts.

How to answer... How to answer... Some hive member has a page somewhere about the hive, so check that... once i find it...

Ok... cant find it. Here's my answers. Correct me if i'm wrong, hive...

1. How does an outsider determine who is who in the hive?

The hive is pretty fluid. Some long term residents rarely post, some short term ones post like maniacs, as do some "outsiders". It doesnt really matter much. The people who are less and less outsiders are the ones that find the hive and stick around. Oops, answering multiple questions...

Moving on...

2. How many people? No one is really sure. I bet some mod could go look at all the old threads and count, but i'd say about... ehh... 40 people, maybe less or more. At max, there are about 10 people around, but usually when its slow, just 1 or 2...

3. How does one become a hiveminder?
Just start posting. And keep up. Its all about the assoication/assimilation...

4. Greater Purpse?
Outsiders would say its just a dumb way to boost postcount, but then again, postcount means nothing. Supposedly, we are the voices inside PirateCat's head, and we mess with his mind, and that is one hundred percent totally correct. But we also just chat and have fun. Oh, and dont use your sig. it drags the boards down...

5. Are we fun?

This question needs no answer. It is uselYES.

6. Flanked?

Lets bust out the minis grid and find out!

The only way to tell for sure is to rummage through the Hive. I'm a newcomer myself, but it seems to me that once you post on the Hive, you are part of the Hive.

I don't think anyone knows for sure. Although the most popular guess is 1, for we are figments of Piratecat's subconscious.

Once one posts, it is too late.

No greater purpose. It's basically a chat room coated with molasses. :D That and building up postcount.

Yes, but of course.

It's true. In fact we are the prototype for the Swarm monster type.

waitaminute - does this mean that i have just become a figment of piratecat's imagination?

this could be messy. that means that the figments of my imagination... are now figments of his figments... which means... their figments... of whom piratecat must be a figment, since everyone is a figment of my figments... so...

Hey - have you ever noticed that if you say / write the word 'figment' enough times, it starts to look really alien?

"This... this means something."
