Well, after being in the finals against Speaker last time, why do you think I havered a bit when put up against him in round 1 this time?

Seriously, though, I like your contests, Mark. I'm a bit burnt out on my SH, and since I only started writing again in October after a ten year hiatus, I need all the practice I can get! I'm still just shaking off rust here; I'm sure my best is yet to come

I'm getting very experimental again, and I think that has to be a good sign...

In fact, its funny, but I feel very ambiguous about this loss. I'm not disappointed by the loss itself, as someone has to lose each round unfortunately, and Speaker turned in a fine piece, but I find myself disappointed that I won't be writing any more stories this time around.

The way my writer's block has been going, Ceramic DM seems to be the only time I've been able to shake it loose and get a story put together. I think the rest of my mind is stressing out about 'Maiden of Pain' too much...

Anyway, would you mind very much if I tagged along and posted more stories in the thread, despite my elimination? I want to keep building my momentum now that I have it started again...
