hivemind?

I've skimmed several of the hivemind threads and found them quite amusing.... Now here's the $20,000 question...

What started the hivemind threads and are there hidden things that I'm missing?

Well, back in August during Gen Con I had a thread in Meta asking how long threads can go. WE used to have a 200 post limit, but that had been lifted. To help illustrate this point Darkness started posting in my thread. Since Gen Con was going on there wasn't to many people on the boards so a few of us who didn't go (started as Darkness, Drowdude and myself, other joined later) posted back and forth till it was closed down by piratecat at 901 posts. Then some others started a thread and did that same thing. It grew out of control so PC had us limit it to three threads and had called them Hivemind. Then we go kicked out of meta and are in the GF.

The think you are missing is that there is nothing to miss. THere is no big secret to get. It just is.

I have tried in vain to keep up several times. I found most of the humor slightly juvenille but i enjoy that so i was not bothered.

Sometimes I have thought about posting in there but i thought it was a club.

Not the same thing... We did it, better, funnier and we arrived to 1197 posts... ;) :p :p :D

I too, object. But mostly because we didn't start that thread. It started with someone asking the top-ten posters how they hit their postcount :)

I was already in top ten, without even a Hivemind post.
I was the fastest story hour addict this side of the Atlantic :D

Once more, that silly thread changed my life in ways I couldn't suspect then. But that's another story that maybe someday I'll tell.

Anyways, that thread, called Dragongirl, Horacio & Arwink: Three posters & a baby marked the origin of what today is called Hivemind. I blame Piratecat...

Nah; that thread was 30-40% senseless spam...

You don't know what are you saying, my friend. That thread was a piece of art.

And it also was the funniest thread ever. And I had never blushed so much before that thread...
