I'd love to but

I have been reading it this morning and I'm actually really into how it takes the action around the Realms. Its a pretty good tour of the Sword Coast, and the final "dungeon" is a classic.
Unfortunately, my gaming is sporadic enough that I'd be surprised if I actually got around to this, and by the time I did there will probably be some other new shiny scenario to play.
I tend to run lots of short scenarios so that changing circumstances don't derail a larger plot and this seems less likely to work.
I'm running the starter set now, and if I actually finish that it'll be a miracle.
That said, I DID make it through the whole 1st half of the "Burning Sky" campaign in 4e...

I hope to run the starter set stuff, then into this with my kids. I find, even with the awesome Scarlet Heroes rules (designed for solo play of OS modules) my two boys are struggling with the pure OS~ness of my preferred modules. So I will give the more 'balanced', less 'arbitrary', 5E a good go. Me I want some one to DM some OS die a lot modules for me, not that it will happen any time soon.

This has been our approach. We're about half way through the Starter Set, using the included pre-generated characters. Once we finish that, we will move to HotDQ. We will have a short diversion around Halloween, in which I will take the group (partially) through Tomb of Horrors. I'm converting the 5E play test version from Dungeon Magazine. After that, we will start RoT.

Depending on how things go, once we finish the Tyranny of Dragons adventures, I was thinking of running those characters through a short campaign to establish them in their lives and businesses. It seems like a lot of the activity that would normally take place between adventures, could be made into adventures (establishing a business, taking spying for nobles, etc.).

I'm backing Necromancer's Kickstarter, so maybe we will play through some of the adventures in Quests of Doom. We'll see what everyone wants to do. I'm just happy to be playing again. :)

So far, I'm in a D&D Encounters group which will begin the Tyranny of Dragons arc, so I'm probably going to end up playing Hoard of the Dragon Queen at some point.
