D&D General *Hobbits* in a late-80s AD&D product

A "hobbit" makes an appearance the 1989 game Curse of the Azure Bonds, even though halfling characters are possible and there's an important halfling (named as such) earlier in the game.

Funny! I’ve played that game so many times through over the years and never caught it Where is that sneaksie hobbit?

WG9 Gargoyle which was published in 1989 had mention of a hobbit thief (Stumpy) in one part and the same thief as halfling in another. Probably an editing error.

Someone at TSR obviously referred to them as "hobbits" in their home game. Maybe a number of someones.

LOL, it's actually a rakshasa in disguise, appearing to be in danger so the party will chase after it. It's in Myth Drannor.
