Holiday IRON DM Tournament HAS STARTED @ NKL (sign up closed)
Hey Everybody!
It is that time of the year again. . .
No, not Christmas, or Hannukah or Kwanzaa - but HOLIDAY IRON DM! Woo-Hoo!
This year we are doing something special (well, TWO somethings special):
First of all, the tournament will be taking place over at Nutkinland's Fun & Games Forum.
Why? Four reasons:
1) Back in the day Nutkinland was host to IRON DM tournaments as well and it has been a long time.
2) To promote healthy diplomatic relations with our black sheep of a younger brother broad
3) Less traffic over there means more board stability and it always sucks when you tyr to post your entry and the boards are slow or wonky (it happens at least twice per tournament)
4) I want to be able to use profanity in my nemmerlesque judgments.
Secondly, the other other special thing is that this tournament will be open to NEWBIES ONLY. I don't mean board newbies, I mean IRON DM newbies - Folks who have either NEVER played in IRON DM and never got a chance to, or who have only ever played once and did not get past the second round. However, total newbies will get preference over those who have played even once.
Sign up begins over at Nutkinland at 12:30 pm Eastern Standard Time on Monday 12/15.
I will accept the first 12 people who post after that time (according to that board's clock) as wanting to play as candiates and then go thru and determine which eight are the most newbie of the newbies.
I will not accept any posts from before that time stamp.
So, take this as an official heads up! I will be posting some links to old IRON DM threads so you can see some examples, also will be posting the rules (as such they are) in this thread soon.
WARNING The First: For those of you unfamiliar with Nutkinland, be certain to look over their FAQ. It is a pretty free-wheelin' place, but it is certainly not "anything goes" and if you getting banned even temporarily from the boards as a whole or the Fun & Games forum in particular that is no excuse for not entering your entry in time.
WARNING The Second: Anyone who has played in IRON DM tournaments more than once and gets the bright idea of registering over at NKL with a different name should keep in mind that as a mod in both places I can check email addresses and IPs - and I wouldn't want to have to black ball anyone from IRON DM permanently.
