Holy crap! Lots of Races

Mystery Man

First Post
I have nothing to do today so I'm putting together a database from all the FR books and WoTC core books, ie Races of... and the environement books etc. I haven't started on the Eberron books (as I don't have but one) or Stormwrack or Warcraft and Dragonlance and without counting the Sarrukh and yaun-ti...

I'm up to 114!! Playable races! :confused::confused::confused:

edit: And don't misunderstand me, I know about ECL for monsters and stuff, I'm talking about the "Races" sections of these books.

Hehe. A LOT. I'd say 10-15 maybe?

Out of that 114, there's probably too many Dwarf, Gnome, Halfling, and Elf subraces.

Edit: Someone beat me in answering. Is 11 a guess or did you count them?

Name, source and favored class...not including Ebberon, Stormwrack, and anything else non-core.

Elf Players Handbook Wizard
Elf, Painted Sandstorm Druid
Elf, Snow Frostburn Wizard
Elf, Aquatic Races of Faerun Fighter
Elf, Drow Races of Faerun Cleric (femail) Wizard (male)
Elf, Moon Races of Faerun Wizard
Elf, Star Unapproachable East Bard
Elf, Sun Races of Faerun Wizard
Elf, Wild (Green elf) Races of Faerun Sorcerer
Elf, Winged (Avariel) Races of Faerun Cleric
Elf, Wood (Copper elf) Races of Faerun Ranger

That's really amazing. I had no idea it was that many - I don't own all of those books, so of course I don't know about many of those.

Could you imagine a setting that used all of them?

Did some editing and reformatting....

Elf Players Handbook Wizard

Elf, Painted Sandstorm Druid

Elf, Snow Frostburn Wizard

Elf, Aquatic Races of Faerun Fighter

Elf, Drow Races of Faerun Cleric (female) Wizard (male)

Elf, Moon Races of Faerun Wizard

Elf, Star Unapproachable East Bard

Elf, Sun Races of Faerun Wizard

Elf, Wild (Green elf) Races of Faerun Sorcerer

Elf, Winged (Avariel) Races of Faerun Cleric

Elf, Wood (Copper elf) Races of Faerun Ranger

Commentary...

a) is it just me or do female drow always end up being sorcerors instead of clerics?
b) None of this include the half elves. There's at least the half-elf and half-drow.
c) I've said it before, I'll say it again: elves can't go away for a two week family reunion without coming back as a subrace.
