D&D 5E (Homebrew) - New Spell: Contract

For a very business focused campaign I am about to run, I thought about a new spell to assist with certain business matters. The idea is an effect similar to a Geas spell. See what you think.

Contract
Level: 4
Casting Time: 1 minute
Range: 60 feet
Components: V
Duration: 1 year

You cast the spell on a piece of paper (the contract) and on up to 10 people in range. All persons noted in the contract must be targets, and all targets must have signed the contract and be willing to its terms or the spell fails. If a person fails to uphold a condition in the contract, they take 5d10 psychic damage, but no more than once per day.

As an option, the contract can specify a third party to arbitrate areas where the contract's terms are vague. The arbitrator can engage the contracts effects against any or all of the targets.

As a second option, you may make up to 10 copies of the contract on its casting.

The contract ends when its terms are fulfilled, its duration ends, or a remove curse has been cast on every copy of the contract.

If cast as a 6th level spell, the duration becomes 10 years. As an 8th level spell, it becomes permanent. If cast as a 9th level spell, the duration is permanent. Further, any children sired by a target after the contract is signed is also bound to its terms.

Well, if it gets used for any sort of normal business, it creates a world where failing to uphold a contract can result in capital punishment (27 damage on an average roll ! )

And it's corporal punishment no matter what. This is a mean world!

Business is very serious in this world;)

I'll say, that's a death sentence for every non adventuring business person. How many people would sign a contract if breaking it meant instant death, no chance to plead before a judge or jury of extenuating circumstances? I couldn't see it used much. Jeez imagine if it was like the thirty page Apple terms and conditions I never read!

However it looks fine as a fourth level spell. I would make it a ritual spell, that just seems right. Also I would specify the arbiter must be part of the casting if that option is chosen
