D&D 5E [Homebrew] Warlock's Curse

Heretic of The Seventh Circle
While reading the new En5ider article with alliteratively named spells, I had an idea.

Get rid of the Hex spell.

Add a dozen or so spells to the game that "curse" the target, change wording in spells that fit that theme already like Bane, so that all these spells say that the target is cursed.

Add:

Warlock's Curse
Starting at level 1, when you deal damage to a creature that is cursed, you deal 1d6 additional necrotic damage to the target, and can choose one of the following effects.

  • The target gains disadvantage on ability checks with an ability score of your choice. Beginning at level 5, the target also takes 1d6 necrotic damage any time it fails an ability check or saving throw with that ability score.
  • The target must succeed on a strength saving throw any time it tries to move more than half it's speed. If it fails, it falls prone and cannot use any more movement that turn. Beginning at level 5, the target takes 1d6 necrotic damage on a failed saving throw from this effect.
  • at least one more similar ability that feels like a minor hex you might put on someone.
