Honeymarsh Academy (D&D3.5) Chapter 2

Yarin moves quietly through the jungle at the back of the group. Currently Yarin sits down on one of the benches and listens to the conversation.

Bahuman the half-giant says,"I am Bahuman." His greataxe sits on his massive back, and he looks at the new arrivals with a stern look.

Bartlin: Queens Knight 6

A Halfling in all black except for his honey gold breastplate stands up and bows. He takes off his golden helm and you all can see he has black eyes and short black buzz cut hair except for the two braids at his temples that are woven with gold and actually stick up like antenna from his head. "I am Bartlin of the Hive." He holds out his necklace honeycomb. "I am a Queen's Knight." There is a flash of golden light and the smell of honeysuckle and a giant bee stands behind the Halfling, "This is my bond mount Morninglight." The Bee has an intricate saddle and there is a black lance attached to it's side.

"We are here to serve."

A swarthy-skinned, violet-haired man approaches along the path. He is fully armored in what looks to be plate armor but laquered in a forest green. A sword hangs at his side, a quiver at his hip, and a shield & bow across his back. Taken as a whole, his garb is elegant, but simple.

As he arrives he listens at the fringe of the group and leans into the shadow of one of the taller plants rather than sit down. Up close, you realize he's taller than you first thought as his build is stocky, despite his height.

Osbry said:
"Alright.. now then. The Helm of Korin. It is a valuable relic, and until this year it has been the subject of our relic-studies program at Honeymarsh. But it was stolen by a group of students last year. As I said- we have already punished some of the students that were involved in the theft. But they were for the most part- followers. The two ringleaders are still at large, and the crown itself has likely been sold to a buyer. We have some idea who that buyer might be."

"But first, our new students."

The violet-maned man looks around and seems to size everyone up before speaking. He opens his mouth to speak, but the half-giant speaks first.
Bahuman said:
"I am Bahuman." His greataxe sits on his massive back, and he looks at the new arrivals with a stern look.

The man visibly flinches under the giant's stern countenance. Then, taking a step forward he says, "Err... well met Bahuman." He seems almost embarassed. "I am Seek-the... that is... you may call me Seeker." By his accent, you can easily place him as hailing from, or spending a great deal of time on one of the upper planes.

"I apologize for my lateness, I was not made aware that our classes had yet begun." He looks questioningly at Osbry. "You are the teacher then? Mr. Osbry?"

Obviously uncomfortable with being the center of attention he looks to his companion to finish his introduction. When that is complete he'll ask the group at large, "So, what is this helm you're talking about and what have we missed?" Looking at Arvin, "Ser, is that blood on you?"

Bart turns to Seeker and holds out his hand. "I'm honored to meet you Seeker. All of you. When are we to leave on our quest Master Osbry?"

Yarin stays seated and attempts to look friendly "I am Yarin, scholar and now wanderer. " Yarin turns to look at Bartlin "Don't you think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself, 'Bartlin of the hive'?"

Bartlin: Queens Knight 6

Bart looks up at Yarin with a smirk on his face. "A Queen's Knight is always prepared for all eventualities. Are you unprepared for the road ahead 'Yarin the scholar'?"
Sensing his bondsman's agitation Morningstar begins to buzz.

Arvins stares in obvious fascination at the giant bee.
"I would hate to get stung by one of those! That thing'd raise a welt the size of ... " He looks at Bartlin. "Well, heck I imagine you'd be pretty much one big welt, wouldn't you?" Arvin laughingly suggests.
"Does this mean we get honey on our cakes for breakfast?"

Yarin tenses as if to attack then calms himself and says quietly "You have missed my point entirely, Queen's Knight. We don't have full information for our journey and you already want to walk out the door."

Bartlin: Queens Knight 6

Looking a bit crestfallen Bart just says "Oh... riiiight..." and sits down. At the mention of honey Bart brightens back up and takes out a small jar from his pack and tosses it to Arvin. "Only the very best!"
